Birthday Bashes & Christmas Parties

Just because the fun has been a month ago doesn't mean we can't relive it. James's actual birthday was a busy day. My parents were visiting to celebrate with us. After opening a few gifts from mom and dad we headed to the Family Christmas Party our church, North Way Oakland, was having. When we got there they were singing and dancing to Christmas songs and they told and acted out a Christmas story. James listened pretty intently and even did a little dancing right a long with the big kids.

A quick lunch, a short nap and then it was off the the triple birthday party! James and his friend Teddy just happened to be born on the same day, at the same time. I met Teddy's mom in the childbirth class I took and we've stayed in touch by getting together with several moms and their babies every week. It just so happened that their neighbor also had a baby boy on Dec. 4th, so we just had to celebrate! I didn't get many pictures but there were about 7, one-year-olds running/crawling around! Great times! James also got his first taste of "real" sweet. :)

The fun couldn't stop there. We had another birthday party with some neighbors and friends from church. This is where James REALLY got into his smash cake! It was hard to get him to eat any vegetables for weeks after this. But, what can beat a homemade banana cake with chocolate frosting?
